The men's golf team at Dixie State became the school's first squad to reach the Division II postseason when it was announced Thursday that the Red Storm was one of 10 teams selected out of the West Region to participate in the NCAA Super Regionals in Lincoln, Neb.
The DSC will compete against nine other teams from the West Region and 10 from the Midwest Region in the three-day tournament May 4-6.
"We're really happy with making it," said Cameron Crawford (Sandy. UT/Jordan HS), the Red Storm's most consistent golfer. "It was our goal from the start of the year to make regionals."
DSC ended the season ranked ninth in the West Region. The Red Storm will be accompanied by fellow western schools Sonoma State, Cal State San Bernardino, Western Washington, Chico State, Cal State Monterrey Bay, Cal State Stanislaus, Grand Canyon, Hawaii Hilo and St. Martin's.
