ST GEORGE. UT-The Dixie State Women's Tennis team hosted their first home match today at the Green Valley Tennis Club and their first opponent was Southern Utah University. Dixie State playing their third match of the year. picked a huge win in #1 doubles. Ashley Lafeen and Liza Davis defeated Kanuha and Docherty 9-8 (7-5). It was the first win of the year for a the DSC pair and first for a Rebel player. The Rebels ended up losing to the NCAA Division I Thunderbirds. but felt really good about how things are progressing as a first year program. Dixie State is a first year program and now competes as an NCAA Division II school. Dixie State will be off for a couple of weeks. when they host Southern Utah University again on March 7th.
